Not three days after I posted on how I enjoyed flying as a time to reflect, take a breath, and catch-up, one of my favourite speakers, authors, and bloggers, Michael Hyatt discussed some similar thoughts in a blog that really resonated with me.

Sometimes it seems like I’m most productive at thirty thousand feet. And I don’t mean burning through busy work. I’m talking about creative work – Michael Hyatt

Anyone who knows me or has read any of my posts knows that after starting yoga teacher training and taking time to really focus inwardly, I’ve found a need to re-inject some forgotten creativity into my life, that’s why I smiled when “9 RESEARCH-BACKED WAYS TO SPARK YOUR CREATIVITY” popped up in my inbox.

I adore Michael Hyatt. He gives heart-felt, tried and tested advice on a whole range of topics, from leadership, to health, to marriage, to mindfulness, and I really like how he’s fine-tuned his blogs to give maximum impact in few words.

Michael’s advice to spark your creativity is simple and researched backed:

  1. Go for a walk
  2. Create distance
  3. Goof around
  4. Stay upbeat
  5. Team up
  6. Set constraints
  7. Get some sleep
  8. Be persistent
  9. Fake it till you make it
